Come to an amazing meet at the GOLD DOME and support Centenary Gymnastics. We will have NGA sessions on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday night come a support Centenary Gymnastics as they compete against Greenville University.

Come and continue the tradition and support Heath High School! Experience a unique opportunity to compete in the Heath High School indoor facility. We will host the best High School gymnast from across the state. We will also be holding sessions for USAG and TAAF Gymnast. 

The Southside Showdown Meet Host

Deryan pressley 

DeRyan Pressley started gymnastics at the age of 2 at Flippers Gymnastics. He continued with the sport until the age of 19, where he competed at the elite level at the Olympic Training Center. He competed High School Gymnastics at Garland High School. 

DeRyan started his professional gymnastics career as the head coach at Texas Champion Gymnastics. He trained athletes to qualify for the National Championships. During this time, he was certified as a nationally ranked judge. He has continued to further his judging expertise by developing a continuing education program to support his fellow judges and give back to the gymnastics community. 

DeRyan served as an auxiliary judge in the 2021 US Olympic Trials, 2021 US Championships, 2021 NCAA Championships, and the 2022 Winter Cup, and other prestigious competitions. 

DeRyan continues to further men's gymnastics in the state of Texas and nationally by volunteering his time judging competitions and coaching at clinics. We are fortunate that he is bringing his expertise to the Southside Showdown. 

Amy Heidel 

Amy Heidel is currently the Head Women's Gymnastics Coach at Heath High School. She started her gymnastics career at Metroplex Gymnastics. She rose to the elite level by the age of 11. She competed High School Gymnastics for South Garland High School. She continued her gymnastics career at Texas Woman's University. While she was at TWU she won 2 National Championships and Amy received All-American Honors on Floor and 2nd team All-American honors on Vault.

Amy is also currently a nationally ranked judge. She has had the opportunity to judge at the SEC Championships, NCAA Regional Championships, and an auxiliary judge at the NCAA National Championships.

Amy continues to further women's gymnastics in the state of Texas and nationally. We are fortunate that she is bringing her expertise to the Southside Showdown.
